Chunky Knits

$25.00

I spent the majority of 2019 writing my first book and now it’s almost here! I’ve designed 30 knitting patterns for you, your home, and your pets using extra-large yarn. I can’t wait to see which patterns you knit up!

Each book comes signed and with an iron-on patch! Patches while supplies last.

UPDATE, please read: I’ve sold out! I’ll have more signed copies of my book within the next two to three weeks. Any books purchased after 2/1/20 will be shipped once stock is received. If you can’t wait to get your knit on, you can buy an unsigned copy from this list of stores & distributors.

Back cover description:

Big, Bold, Beautiful Knits Perfect for Beginners (and Procrasti-Knitters)

With big needles and oversized yarn, anyone can knit up fun, stylish patterns in a flash! Alyssarhaye Graciano, knitwear designer and founder of BlackSheepMade, filled this book with quick projects perfect for your friends, family, pets, and home.

Especially good for beginners, thick yarn makes it easy to see all of your stitches as you’re working. Even if you mess up, bulkier yarns make it simple to find and fix your mistakes. Experienced knitters can zip through last-minute gifts (the Cascades Cowl only takes two hours!) and traditionally time-consuming large-scale projects like the extra cozy Homebody Blanket.

Try your hand at arm knitting with eye-catching knits like the Hella Big Arm Knit Scarf, add a pop of color to your home with Ember’s Circle Rug or even bring some funky style to your wardrobe with cute accessories like the retro PNW Beanie or the striking Radius Hooded Cowl! With this book full of no-fail patterns and a basketful of chunky yarns, you can learn new stitches with confidence and have cool custom pieces in no time at all.

"Free-spirited. Creative. Hard working. Words that describe the projects in Chunky Knits as well as the designer/entrepreneur herself. Alyssarhaye came to my yarn shop soon after arriving on the famed Portland creative scene, to see if we needed craft teachers. She had a passion for using chunky yarns when teaching as well as for her BlackSheepMade projects. Our customers loved her classes– arm knitting, crocheted pet beds, macramé, and a beginner’s crochet class—and they also love the unique chunky and super jumbo yarns she brought in for those projects. She made each student feel at home and empowered their creativity. These are qualities that she brings to her first book, Chunky Knits. This book is chock full of fun projects that use thick yarns. Each project is well thought out with simple and clean design elements. The wide variety of projects—scarves, cowls, beanies, items for your pets and home-- means that everyone can find something that appeals. Beginners will learn new techniques and more advanced knitters will find each project offers a new twist that keeps them coming back for more. The projects in Chunky Knits are quick and captivating. Knitters will find more designs that they actually finish in this book than in most of the knitting books they already have on their shelves!
